YouTube Part Links
While running a few searches on YouTube I noticed that videos broken into parts have links (similar to Google site links) pointing the the various parts:
This is a great way to navigate to the first video in a series when another part appears in the search results, and is a cue that YouTube understands the relationship between your videos, but not all multi-part videos have these links. It doesn’t appear to be a feature given only to branded/partner channels, so how can you get these links for your videos ?
It looks like there are a few things to consider if you aren’t seeing these additional links for your multi-part video content:
First, all the videos that have these additional links have the part number at the end of their title. Videos with the part number in the beginning or middle of the title do not.
Secondly, videos with these additional links keep their titles consistent (other than the part number). If you have different titles for each part of the series, YouTube can’t easily recognize that they are connected.
Lastly, videos that have these links do not abbreviate or use roman numerals (ie. pt.1, part II, 01-2). I have only seen these links on videos that use ‘part 1′ or ‘part one’ at the end of the title.
Has anyone seen this or experimented with this before ? Leave a comment and let’s talk:
