Playlists let you organize and share video in cool new ways on YouTube, so stop not knowing how to create them by watching this tutorial.

Introduction

Instead of having your favorite videos scattered all over YouTube, put em in a playlist! You can create playlists using your videos, someone elses videos, or a combo of the two. You can even add your own commentary to the videos you add.

Playlists are great for a couple of different reasons.

• They help you keep videos organized on YouTube
• They can increase views by encouraging viewers to watch more than one video
• They can increase exposure since playlists can appear in YouTube search results

Create a playlist

You can create a playlist on a video watch page or in your video manager. From a video watch page just click the “add to” button
and you can add a video to an existing playlist or create a new one by typing the name of your playlist at the bottom of the list.

You can also add videos to a playlist from your video manager. Just select the videos you want to add and hit the ‘add to’ button.

Edit Your Playlists

If you want to edit your playlists just click on the playlists button in your video manager and then click on the ‘Edit’ button for the playlist you want to edit. You can change the privacy of your playlist and control what others can do with your playlists. If you’re a YouTube partner you can also turn your playlist into an official series playlist.

Next you can change the title and description of your playlist just like you would for a video.
It wouldn’t hurt to do a little keyword research if you want your playlist to rank when people search. Then you can change the order of the videos in your playlist with a quick sort, or do a slow sort by dragging your videos around with your mouse.

Add or edit any notes you want, and tell YouTube which video thumbnail should be the playlist thumbnail, then just save your changes!

Share Your Playlists

Now your playlist is ready to share and there are plenty of ways to share it.

Start by clicking on the share button on your playlist to grab the shortened URL for your playlist and some buttons to share it on social networks. You could make a playlist on how to use Facebook and send it to your MySpace friends!
